About me

A key driving force behind Wightman Legal’s growth and development into a flourishing multi-disciplinary firm, Krys is loved and respected by our clients for navigating them through regulatory complexity and helping them to succeed.  Her natural disposition to think deeply about business issues enables Krys to identify opportunities that others miss, whilst a talent for being organised ensures these plans are executed thoroughly and without fuss.

Growing up, Stan Canny drilled into his daughter the need to look at business problems from a variety of angles.  Stan’s constant refrain was:

At university you just have to answer the question, in life you have to work out what the question is!

This fueled Krys’s enthusiasm for getting to the bottom of business issues and working with owners to solve them.  She is known amongst our team and our client as someone who doesn’t give up!

A passion for working with clients holistically complements Krys’s business acumen and ensures that all client’s needs are well covered.

Krys also has a personal affinity for Geelong’s northern suburbs as well as the not-for-profit sector.  This is evident in her community contribution as Treasurer on the Board of the Norlane Community Centre, with which she was involved from 2013 to 2020.  In 2016, Krys received a Commonwealth Bank Not-For-Profit Treasurer’s Award which recognised her valued contributions.  Additionally, Krys was on the Board of Bethany from 2014 – 2019 and was also the Treasurer of Clare Court Children’s Services for two years.

When Krys isn’t working she loves to spend time with her husband and children, as well as catching up with friends.
