Debbie is a family lawyer at Wightman Legal who is recognised for her professionalism, attention to detail and genuine care for her clients. Originally from Ballarat, Debbie moved to Geelong to complete her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Criminology at Deakin University.

Since beginning her career in family law, Debbie has worked closely with clients at Canny Legal on a wide range of family law matters, including parenting arrangements, property settlements and matters involving family violence.

Debbie understands how overwhelming separation can be and strives to make the family law process feel less intimidating, offering patient guidance and thoughtful communication every step of the way. Her approachable nature and calm presence help put clients at ease, and she’s committed to making the legal process as smooth and supportive as possible.

Outside of the office, Debbie brings the discipline of a taekwondo black belt and the creative expression of a dancer to everything that she does. These pursuits reflect her balanced approach to life and work – focused, grounded, and full of positive energy. Whether advocating for clients or perfecting a routine, she approaches each challenge with determination and heart.
